“I saw steve’s crew at a party at the hotel I work at. It was a party for the final day filming on his new feature movie. John was working the banquet and it was a huge deal. Tons of ice sculptures and lobster buffet.. Steve was there. I think this is all a scam to get press to the new movie. You would think they could have got the servers ready for the hoax better. His site is down hehe..

He was killed in a freak accident in Cairns, police sources said.

It is understood he was killed by a stingray barb that went through his chest.

He was swimming off the Low Isles at Port Douglas filming an underwater documentary and that’s when it occured.

Ambulance officers confirmed they attended a reef fatality this morning at Batt Reef off Port Douglas.

His body is being flown to Cairns.

A Tourism Queensland spokeswoman today said the death was shocking and paid tribute to Irwin’s “enormous contribution” to his adopted state.

Louise Yates said it was impossible to quantify how much Mr Irwin had meant to the Queensland tourism industry.

“I don’t think we could even estimate how much he brought us through his personality and his profile and his enthusiasm about Queensland,” she said.

I just wish I had thought of it. I love the idea of being able to get a buzz going on across the blogosphere. The funny thing to me is that this stuff has been going on for a long time. Companies were paying bloggers to post reviews of new sites or products. In the early days you had people contacting sites to buy advertising adsense changed all that and made the whole thing automated. I see this as the same thing. It cuts down time and as a company looking for buzz you can get the word out allot faster.

As far as ethics of it all well take turn on your tv you see product placement in movies and shows every day. Its do not see this as any different. Most of us enjoy making money and pay per post makes it easier for bloggers and advertisers to do that.
